Hey Everyone!

I am new here but not to Ovations. My First guitar was actually an Applause made back in 1979. At the time the only thing on the guitar was the sound board.

The back was the typical ovation back, and the neck was made of a high strength plastic on the back with a wood like finish and an all aircraft aluminum fretboard.

Took that thing with me everywhere I went, learned to play on that guitar and made allot of friends because if it!

When a friend of mine broke his guitar (and I was getting another) I gave him that instrument, he played the heck out of it too, then we both gave it to another friend who played the heck out of it...It may not have had the best sound or feel but it still holds some of the best memories.

I have owned a Custom Balladeer, too and traded it for a 12 string. I am looking for a cheep Ovation 12 string with a pickup to use at church.

I have owned an OLD Guild D40 (blew up with my first house) and I currently own a Limited edition Martin 1935 Re-issue. Don't get me wrong I love my instruments but there is something about an Ovation especially in a 12 string they just play beautifully! So they crack after a time...take care of them fix the crack and play the heck out of them.

Hi Phred, welcome. I've updated your status to full member, so you can feel free to post throughout the site.

Also, I just happen to be the dude selling the cheapest 12 string in our "For Sale" section. Feel free to ask anything you like about it. It does have a finish crack (not into wood), but it's in awesome condition, especially considering it's 30+ years old.
