Joined: August 2003 Posts: 4619 Location: SoCal | When I got mine from Al (trade for a Viper bass), I was advised that the redwood is a little more fragile, even to detune after playing. Maybe for the cold climates if you were transporting to performances but in San Diego I leave it out of the case at 440 and have had no problems. Very nice projection even though it is a mid-bowl. | ||

That was one of those auctions with crappy pictures and an ad that didn't do justice to the guitar and it ended on something like a Saturday afternoon when no one with a life would be looking at guitars on ebay. If I remember correctly, it had a few finish flaws, too. My 99 Collector's also has the shizzle appearance-wise, but doesn't have the tone of the Redwood. They really did some pretty Collectors in that era, but the Redwood is the only one I can think of that sounded as good as it looked. | ||
