They have a good reputation. I played one in NC and it was nice. I think I like Collings more but they are probably different sides of the same coin. Never did an A/B test.

Yes!
gh1 recently sold one to a friend of mine and I got to sit with it for a short Time. Light, responsive and finely crafted.

Too bad that it kept sliding out of my lap... not.

I have one of their banners on the bandroom ceiling. It isn't as nice as some others. Does that count?

As Mike pointed out, i owned an H&D CM for a time. Incredible guitar!

I own a Collings C-10 which is a very comparable small body guitar. Tone wise, to my ear, the H&D had the edge. It was better balanced and had a richer bass. The C-10 has clearer and brighter treble. Again, to my ear.

Construction -- both equally superb.

As with all guitars, there is going to be variation from guitar to guitar. But if you're going to buy it off ebay -- a H&D will reduce the risk of getting a dog.

Thanks for the reviews.. the one I'm watching is a 2001 model, Cedar top, Koa back and sides..not too pricey, compared with the original retail.

That one is a beauty...subtle bling on a cedar top...NICE!

The maple collings C10 Deluxe I just pick up has one of those K&K pickups installed in it. Very nice and natural sounding when plugged in and doesn't seem to distract from the acoustic tone at all.

Good luck with it.

WOW....I just went back and looked at it again.

The seller is gonna take a big time hit for the shipping charges. Apparently he has not sold or shipped one within the last 6 months!

I have played a few and liked them but for my money when to start moving into that price range you might want to look at a Collings......

It sold 7 minutes before the auction closed. $2950.
