Since We are talking about the Doobies so much a question. What guitar did Pat do most if not all of the early acoustic work on their records with? I know the answer so the first one to get it right gets a much sought after Ronnie Davis CD.

That's the picture I photoshop'd out of a video of What’s Happening! (episode #38, 1978)
Doobie or Not Doobie (part 2). That was back in Nov, 2005 for an old thread. Cholloway, I'm honored that you like my work.

It's tempting to say an old D-18 or 28 but I'm thinking that they were an old Gibson of some sort. That first album had more punch than a Martin.

Close, I would have thought there would have been more interest in winning a Ronnie Davis CD.

I already have one. :D

Otherwise I would have said his Epiphone Texan (shows up on all the DB albums).
He also used a D-35 and a D-28 and occasionally a Gibson Hummingbird.

And the winner is Wabbit. The Texan was his main recording acoustic for years. Since you have a Ronnie Davis CD how about a demo of some songs from his upcoming CD.

Noah,
You do GOOD work. Didn't mean to steal it... sorry.

I woulda guessed a Texan, but I thought that guitar was more recognized for McCartney's use of one.

yeah, right.

Colin,
I was happy you used it! That's why it's out in the Gallery. Seeing it brought back memories. It was a crappy video to start with and my first time trying to capture and restore a frame from a video.
