Location: Bristol England | Hi Jimmie,
Craigslist offers a hard case (always a plus) but no mention of postage if you can't collect. A negative is no mention of returns and 'cash only' i.e. you have no comeback as you would with Visa or PayPal.
You do not mention if the local shop is supplying a hard case but plusses on their side is you can try it, both acoustic and amped up and pay with Visa etc. also you can 'get hold of them if something goes wrong. As a rough guide a second hand case in the uk goes for about £50 ($79) plus shipping.
Please only consider these as 'Thought for consideration' as, in the end, it is your choice.
If you decide to go retail you can always use the Craigslist price as a start to bargaining.
Good hunting and best of luck..

Location: the BIG Metropolis of TR | Hello Jimmie
I own a '93 and I have to say these are underrated guitars....I normally prefer center sound hole Ovations, but of the multi-holes I've owned and of others I've played at OFC gatherings....It has the best sound (except for maybe a 1537)
I didn't think the multi-holed O's would have much volume, but mine is a cannon!!
The '93's have the saddle canted 15° rearward in the bridge which drives the top for a huge sound, plus it has a nice comfortable V-shaped neck.
I played mine one night in a noisy acoustic jam circle and my wife commented later that she could hear my guitar over everyone's (several Martins in the circle too!)
I can't comment to much about the price (haven't bought to many guitars lately) but like James said, it's your decision in the end, I do agree that you should try and bargain with them on price.
You like the sound....So if it "speaks" to you then I know you be happy....... |
