There are too many variables in the recording process to make the comparison that you are asking for, meaningful. First, unless I got the guitars mixed up, you are asking for a comparison of a Legend and a Custom Legend. Basically the same guitar with different levels of bling (adornments). Second, the recorded sound depends on too many variables including but not limited to, the skill of the player, the microphones used, the recoding equipment used, the skill of the person operation g that equipment, the room in which the recording is made, etc. You state above that you are more interested in a Custom Legend. Get one and be happy. But what you are asking for will not give you any useful information.....

I have a 1777LX and i'm sure that it just can't sound like deep bowl O's independently from mix, effects, compression e.t.c. While listening the professional guitar records with mid-bowl Ovation (old good Standard Balladeer) i hear that it's mid-bowl guitar in the track. There are in the deep-bowl O's something special in the sound (it's deeper and softer). It's to difficult to explain, but you know what i'm talking about. I just never played contour bowl O's but 2079LX is the best in my new guitar choise now. And i just wanna get some more demo's to hear this character. It will be enough to make a decision. It's not easy to buy guitar blindly =) I'm sorry for this thread if it's really so foolish.

What's that old saying "There aren't any foolish questions" well perhaps... but I can understand your angst. Buying without the chance to "try-it-out" first isn't my preference either.
My sense of tone or character is most likely not as good as yours (or most folks here) but I question if you'll truly be able to make a determination one way or the other from amateur recordings (no offense intended anyone) there's just too many recording variables (as moody has noted). IMHO you're never gonna really know if a particular guitar sounds and feels right to you until you actually play it.
Dunno if this video helps ya any or not, but saw it on youtube...

I hope you find the one you're after.

Here is a partial song with my 2007BCS mic'd. This is how the guitar sounds acoustic. http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=6823131 The next two links are the 2007BCS plugged in comparing the different preamps. While this is the plugged in sound it does give a good representation of the depth of the tone compared to the mid bowl. http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=7137864 http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=6962818 Finally here is a preamp test in a mid-bowl 1778. This is the plugged in sound. It gives you a comparison with the deep contour bowl in the above 2 links. http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=7109476

Do the homework on the model(s) ya want... go hunting... check out the seller's reputation (as best ya can)... and then pull that trigger!

And I bought 3 i bought two, but it means nothing =) i wanted to buy 1769 ADII because it has a great configuration (deep bowl, the best wood, A-bracing), but i've tryed it and i have not liked it's unplugged sound

That pretty much sums up Richard and me too. (And AJ, Banjo, PeterS....) If you live in Australia and wand a US Ovation without paying STUPID money, you buy them from the States, sight unseen, sound unheard.
I haven't been disappointed yet!

Then they could post recordings of each model for me so I could decide which one I like best before I make a purchase. That would certainly make MY life a lot easier.

And with different takes using different brands and sizes of strings, with each one of those variations recorded with various microphone standards, pointed at different parts of the guitar, etc... there are just too many variables for the same guitar to sound completely different from one 'demo' to the next. There's no easy way. Pay no attention to any 'demos' you hear anywhere. You gotta bite the bullet and buy it and try for yourself. Also realize that a guitar will sound different after being played constantly for several years. I used to think MWoody's LAV Koa sounded flat and lifeless when I first met it several years ago. When i saw it last, it sounded very different to me, my entire attitude about Koa topped guitars ghanged after hearing how his guitar had opened up. Happy hunting! This is the main reason I keep coming back to Ovations. I know that I can count on the consistency of sound and build quality from one guitar to the next. Sure, one will sound 'fatter' and another 'thinner', but they all will have the same Ovation sound and quality of construction.
