Location: Nova Scotia, Canada | Just wondering if anyone has ever install a K&K Western Mini pup on an Ovation?
There are three piezo transducers that fasten to the underside of the top, below the bridge. On guitars with pinned bridges, they would stick to the bridgeplate but with an O obviously there isn't one. Would the braces be in the way? The guitar I have in mind for it has X bracing.

Location: Denver, CO | Hi, Wayne. I see no one with real experience has picked this up, so I'll at least say hi. The Western Mini was recommended to me for my 40th Anniversary Balladeer, by an OFC member, but I can't recall who it was. I ordered one, but have not had it installed yet, because I'm debating the advisability of mucking up my #3... I have played a custom Morgan and a Blueridge that had Minis, and was very impressed. |

Yes, I have a K&K Mini in an old Martin D-18 and love it so was thinking it would sound good in an old shiny bowl that I have. Most reading on them suggests that placement in relation to the strings they are amplifying is quite important although with X bracing should be possible. |

Location: Flahdaw | I'm thinking the bridgeplate transducer is an important element. Since the O doesn't have a bridgeplate, it may not be ideal.
If you are talking about an O with a soundhole, I would think about an Anthem or even an M1.

Location: Marlton, NJ | I think it would be a little more difficult to install compared to most guitars. Check out the installation instructions under "MANUAL INSTALLATION (PINLESS BRIDGES)". Note that you have to drill two 1/16” reference holes in each end of the saddle-slot.
