Location: Central Massachusetts | You can see the trapezoidal carve-out in the top where the old Ovation bridge/tailpiece used to be. It also appears that they have hacked away part of the body (the lower left area from the first picture.) Definitely not a MWoody-grade customization! |

The Breadwinner/Deacon has a sense of symmetry. This looks like they modified it so it would "sit up" straight. |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Wow... where to begin. I really wish it was priced appropriately because if it plays, it's worth more in parts than a whole guitar in that shape. My guess is that someone striped/re-finished the body after making it pointy and that it was originally a late model black breadwinner with the humbucker pickups, pre-amp etc.. Of course the whole bridge situation.... Someone did a lot of work on this. |

Location: Upper Left USA | I've been staying out of this one, I didn't do it and I'd have wished they had taken out their inspirations on a new body/plank. The hard part is that at least for a time you could pick up an Ovation solidbody cheaper than new wood. If it plays and makes the player happy then it work. It's still wrong in my mind but that's just me. I never learned how or when to use a whammy/trem bar. For the sake of balance in the Universe - I played the JM Deacon at Church this morning...

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | The Limted has a respectable following. It's an acquired taste but put into the context of when it came out, it makes perfect sense. A breadwinner that's been updated a bit. A little more sleek line and such. I prefer the traditional Breadwinner and Deacon, but I've had a few these over the years and they are nice guitars and are surprisingly well balanced. Overall I prefer the Toroidal pickups as well. Never really liked the Ovation humbuckers other than the UKII pickups. |
