I have a Celeb Dlx with a tuner problem.

All I am getting is the up and down arrow flashing. I changed the battery, but no luck.

WHere do I start looking?

Just a few moments ago I had the same problem with a new (to me) guitar.
The arrows flashed but the letter didn't appear.
I changed the battery and cured the problem.
Try that.

No... Apparently not.

Therefore, I will refer back to my original answer in General Posting

"First place to look... Does the guitar work when you plug it into an amp?
If not the connection from the pickup to the preamp may be the problem.
"

I just had the arrow thingy happen to me this morning, and I thought to answer Nikon's question while I was doing other things.

In OMA's defence, I thought about suggesting changing the battery again, as sometimes the new battery is as bad as the old one.

FInally got someone with hands smaller than mine to check. One of the wires comnig out of the control box had worked itself loose.

All in working order now!

Thanks for the update. I read the previous posts and was surprised that nobody suggested checking for a loose wire. Seems obvious now. Happy for you that it was an easy fix. We all should have dental mirrors in our guitar kits.

I use an auto mechanic mirror because they're larger and are extendable/adjustable. I use a round one that's about 2" in diameter, but they also come is rectangular shape that's about 2" x 3" in size and some even have built-in lights.

What's this Mark?

I think we have an anti-dentite amongst us, must be one of Jerry Seinfeld's buddy's.

I just couldn't resist!!!

Do you know the difference between a dentist and a guitar player?...

The dentist gives you a shot for the pain before he starts working...

Oops. Sorry. That was an anti-guitite joke...

I love Sienfeld. I watch it almost every night and that episode was one of the good ones...

That Jerry's a vary, vary bad boy! Vary bad!

Dan, if you happen to find a guitar pick lodged within one of your Ovation’s, with teeth imprints, please take a picture of it and post it to the forum. You just never know. It might have once belonged to Glenn Campbell....
