Location: Connersville, Indiana | Thanks Pez, I remember that song well. It was one of my Uncles favorite songs and he would play it on his 50's Gibson Black Beauty, I believe that was the name of his guitar was. Brought back lot of great memories.

Location: Fort Worth, TX | I just missed meeting Merle by a few minutes one time when I was doing rodeo banners for Skoal Pro Rodeo. He had been at Walt Garrison's office, the Dallas Cowboy football player Tom Landry said was his favorite. I've been friends with Walt for 20 years. That song hit me right in the gut for some reason. I couldn't talk trying to tell my wife about it. I can't believe that song escaped my notice all these years. Been a Merle fan since I was a teenager when all my friends were into Zeppelin, etc. Thanks for posting such an emotionally powerful song to start my weekend off with. |
