I just bought a Korean Hamer... So I have some questions.
Does the serial number have the year in it? The numbers are "980xxxx".
This doesn't say XT, but it does say "Made in Korea" on the back of the headstock.
I am guessing about the SAFT part. Here is the critter...

This one is kinda old and faded. The gold has worn-off of the pickups.
And the pickup selector has the tip Broken... Not just the plastic, but really broken, but it still works.
This has a really nice weight and it feels solid. Oh, it has a set neck.
Even though the nut width is about the same as a normal Ovation, the fingerboard Feels wider.
Anyway, I just wanted to brag and search for any information y'all might wanna share.

Looking good Art!

I don't know the full history but some of the 80's MiK Hamer units were built to so pretty good specs and are nice players.

I figured-it-out... sorta.

The nut width is 1-11/16" but the E to e distance is wider.
Plus the radius is flatter... Add to that, the neck is heftier.
I have quite a few electric guitars and this has the beefiest neck.
I like it!
