Joined: August 2011 Posts: 187 Location: Florence,SC | Those of you who read my past post and buying an almost mint UKII will remember this picture: I used Mothers Back To Black on the bridge ... applied to the left, untreated on the right: It's been awhile now, giving the treatment time to fade away. But no fading. I treated the right side only so we could compare a recently treated area to a week old treated area (on the left). I'd say this stuff is pretty good.

If you are going to go through the effort you might as well just remove the surround from the guitar. It's just the four screws then you can take the pickup and switch off as well. Easy peasy in the scheme of things. | ||

First, thank you CKKeller for posting about this guitar being available at the Mobile,AL Guitar Center. Second, thanks to SOBeach for turning me on to Mothers Back To Black plastic restorer. And lastly, thanks to Miles for not only his advice on removing the pickup surround, but also for providing a place for Ovation fans to interact and help each other. (Is this beginning to sound like an award acceptance speech?) You guys made it possible for me to aquire an absolutely beautiful guitar.

My UKII pup screws look more like they're rust-plated… I wonder if they make "Mother's Back to Gold"? | ||
