I got an email from Guild hawking a sweet looking hollowbody, the GSR T-500. More intriguing than the guitar though is the statement ... produced in Guild's New Hartford factory ...

Yeah, I know, be a big boy yada yada, but still, kind of shakes me up.

There's a lot of great guitars still coming out of that old mill.

As much as I miss my Ovations, the two Bob's are spot on.

How are the "new" factory Guilds being received ? I know much stock is still held in instruments that were made at the Weatherly factory. The first guitar I every wanted was a Guild D-55, back in high school. I ended up with a used Ovation Legend, which I still have.

Westerly, Rhode Island.

While the guitars from Westerly are still regarded with much reverence, the people who know these things tell me that the best of New Hartford are every bit as good as the best from Westerly. The main difference is that the budget end of the line are now made offshore.

Just in case I win the lottery, where does the US made line start, at Guild, now a days ?
