Hello, I'm Italian, still a beginner! I just bought used my first ovation, is a CSE44, I checked some of the posts on this forum and considered my budget <500euro seemed the best compromise, and I really love it.

Now the question: I can't find anywhere a picture of the same guitar I have, it is supposed to be solid top but doesn't look so. I'm quite sure it is original, given the ovation stamp everywhere, also inside on the back.

It is easier if I post some picture, I mean you kind of feel the wood touching the top from the holes, but looking in the holes it has a weird layered aspect, you know two thin layers darker then the central thik one... maybe I'm wrong.

I think it sounds like a solid top... or at least better then many other guitars I heard... :D
Only disappointment is that is crazy big and large :/ I will get used!

Hi.

CSE Celebrity's are supposed to have Solid Tops.
If your top is Quilted Maple or Waterfall Bubinga or something weird, it might have a veneer.
Of course, the epaulets are glued-on when you look from the side.
So I cannot really tell from my location.

Here are some of your photos... Maybe someone else will help.

I once had one of those. I liked it. And I kinda miss it.

Someone with the authority to do so will be along to grant you full access.

Meanwhile... Welcome.

Thanks Arthur.
It doesn't look like Waterfall Bubinga, or Quilted Maple, and I couldn't find another guitar looking like it online (seems to be not abb, or normal sun barst).
But I really don't think is a fake, it would be impossible, all the other details are right.

I'm wondering why the CSE44 doesn't exist on the ovation website, neither in the archive or in the new products.
I suppose they should have all the models and colors somewhere. Inside it says CSE 44 Celebrity (with the made in korea stuff on the botton).

No... It is not fake. Like I said, I once owned one.

The CSE44 is on the Left, with the dots on the bridge.
The look-alike is a USA 6778LX.
Side-by-Side, they compared well together.
Yes, the 6778LX is a better guitar... But they were close.
They both sound Good, and I might have been bias since I kept the 6778LX and sold the CSE44.
As far as a "compromise" goes... The CSE44 is a Nice guitar.
And much better than most things in that price range.
You did Good.

OH! And it may not be on the Ovation website because they may not be making them any longer.
There are a lot of Ovation products that are not on the new website.
