However, I am now thinking, well, just one more. I was looking at some of the 2078 T and 1778 T out there, and then ran across an 1868T on eBay. I really like the look, and am anxious to try that SSB. I have not pulled the trigger on a bid yet, but still have a few days. I have heard good things about the elites, but wanted to check on how the 1868T is compared to, say, the 2078. I also want to pay a fair price, but really can't tell just yet what is fair (since I have no experience with these guitars). Any direction, opinion, or guidance would be most welcome. ZZenman

If I had more money I woulda bought it last week when it was only $400. But I already own one and I am quite pleased with it. USA T's are getting scarce... They used to be on d'Bay all the time, but not so much lately. So if you want one.... Make him an Offer. Next time he lists this the price may go up again.

I found some others at GC in the $399 range, both with and without the case. I am not sure I will really ever part with it (presuming it sounds and plays as well as the Balladeer). Was originally interested in an elite with the epaulets, but heck --- that all black one is just cool.

Never really collected stamps or baseball cards (on purpose), or certainly not money; however, I heard that if you have more than three of something about which you feel some passion, you could qualify as a collector. I have never really been much of a joiner, and I am very new here, but for some reason I have been drawn to the Ovations just this year. I have had a 65 Gibson Melody Maker for longer than any of my wives (past and present), have a Guild classical six-string, been playing with an Alvarez acoustic-electric that looked nice at the time (although the electronics crapped out early and often), bought my wife a Fender "starcaster" a few years ago (she wanted to learn), and then found that Balladeer earlier this year. Now this Elite. I promised I would not get another guitar until I got rid of one, so I am easing into "goodnight sweetheart, well it's time to go" to the Alvarez. Then I will have an opening for another Ovation -- just sayin', good to plan ahead . . .
