Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | I just got back from picking up a wonderful Takamine TF430SS to add to my arsenal/collection/stable (or as SWMBO calls it "the pile") lol...the guitar is very clean w/ the only mark being a natty thumbnail scratch near the bass side top above the bridge. This is the NEX body size w/beautiful Ovangkol back and sides and a red ceder top finished in a soft autumn sunburst. I love the headstock adorned with an inlaid wood script T and the Cool Tube 2 preamp...my all time favorite recording preamp. The former owner made several nice additions: he changed out the (in my opinion) awful amber tuner buttons for some gorgeous polished Ebony buttons which match the gold and black of the tuners perfectly...and he also added a small vintage tortoise PG which looks very sharp and helps to protect the soft Red Ceder top...I haven't been able to take pictures yet but I will asap. It also has the original Takamine brown hard case w/black plush lining. To my ears, the sound of this guitar is balanced yet very adaptable to individual playing styles: it sounds incredible when finger picked and chords beautifully w/lush overtones and long sustain aided by the West African Rosewood and Red Ceder tonewoods.
This is a very nice guitar and I can't wait to record with it.
This was a local Craig's List find at an unbelievable near give away price...I got there first...
Here is Brad Davis demoing this model guitar and the Cool Tube preamp: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSV5IQ2xNqk&feature=relmfu
