Close. No slide, though. And, A/E. The 'ngineering may be daunting.

Using a 4-A Kermode "Iron Spruce" top, from up-yer-way, too. 35-to-40 lines-per-inch. Probably leave it 3/16", for added rigidity.

Some additional photos. The stamped marking on the butchered soundboard is "NOV 28 1980"
The new top isn't perfect in the center-glued joint, but WTF; that's where the cone is going, anyway!
I reglued the serial # tag back onto the label- it's "S/N 110204"- probably matches up with the inkstamp date pretty well.

This thing has got a l-o-o-o-o-o-n-n-n-n-n-n-g way to go. I'm not committed to anything specific, except 12 strings & a deep bowl.

So, any thoughts? I think I've got this critter cornered!
Kinda tight around the waist, but that's the problem with a 14-fretter. It moves the bridge & saddle forward, relative to the optimal resonation location. That's probably why 12-fretters are a bit more resonant, to get the bridge into the lower-&-wider part of the soundboard.
The soundwell for the cone looks to be about 1-1/2" deep. Not my 1st time making one of those- basically, 3 rings of 1/2-inch MDF, the diameter of the cone, with a 1/2-inch bottom "shelf" to rest the cone on. It doesn't warp, and machines accurately.

Small problem. Looks like the FET volume-only preamp will have to be relocated. Probably to the bass-side, off the neck joint area. "Gotta break some eggs", I suppose.

Could you use an Oval resonator?

Nah, but thanks for the offer. I'm fine with relocating the electronics. I got the "parts donor" last night, and have a better idea of components placement now. Whatever hit that square-neck Rogue was pretty formidable. I was considering, albeit briefly, a restoration, but the structural damage is too extensive on the beast. I may somehow salvage the back & sides, with the soundwell intact. The neck will be sacrificed, bottomline. May be able to remove the fretboard, though.

Looks like I don't have to move the FET to another location. Durn close, though!
And, not one to toss things out, I am doing a water immersion on the old Rogue carcass to see if it can be born again. Pardon the somewhat sacrilegous tone.

The Rogue is in pieces. Had polyvinyl glue, so the neck popped off easily. Now, got to router-off the damaged top off the body, and decide what to do with a disassembled, square-neck, 12-fret, 1-7/8"-nut, box guitar, with a vestigal soundwell, in need of reconstruction.......

Thanks! It will be interesting to see if the whole thing stands up to the tension of 12 strings. Glued in the bindings this AM- basswood & mahogany.

It's done. Pictures later this evening. Seems to be handling the tension, thus far. Took a stab, with the dimensional estimates from my diagram. Seems pretty close. Coulda been an engineer, instead of an over-opinionated headshrinker.

My hosting service is down, at present, so the photos will have to wait.
THIS CRITTER ROCKS!!!
I plugged in, and was blown away by the presence & clarity. It's got an easy action, too- 3/32" on the bass, 5/64" on the treble side.
The thinline piezo is in the spider slot, with a bone saddle, and a bone nut. Nice thing about those aluminum necks- don't hardly budge, even with 12 strings, at concert pitch.
I'm thinkin'- REZXII,"Rezzy", for resonator-twelve.
