Hello,
I'm msrozz and am new here. I am currently taking guitar lessons and just made a trade for a Ovation Celebrity Acoustic/Electric Guitar CC67. I did just notice that it has a crack in the lacquer small dent on band (hence crack), but I traded a Ibanez Gio (worth about $50-$60) electric guitar straight-up for it, so I feel I got the better deal. I'm really, really, really new and green and decided at 40+ years old that I want to learn to play, lol. I only know a few chords and have been taking lessons since late February and now a bit frustrated. I'm hoping to learn a lot here.
Thanks!

One more thing, just played a pentatonic scale on my "new" ovation and I love it! I love the deep bowl. The guitar I was learning with prior to this is a Takamine. I just want to learn more about playing and about this guitar as well as other ovations. My long time goal is to become good (master) playing an acoustic because I lucked upon a Electra 1975 electric guitar and would love to learn to play it. Found it at a garage sale with the hard case for $5.00!!! All it needed was 1 string replaced! I was told it is harder to learn acoustic so I decided to go the hardest first to pave the way to an easier electric journey later. Also, I would love to find a hard case for my ovation. It has a padded gig bag but the headstock (tuners) like to get stuck and pulls some of the stuffing out, lol. Do you think I could find a case for it? I'm here in Texas.

"Harder to learn acoustics" - pretty broad statement.

I play acoustic guitar reasonably competently but couldn't play an electric to save my life. They're a completely different animal.

It was probably an electric guitar player that told you that.

LOL. Actually, it was an acoustic instructor that told me that.

MSRozz welcome, you can now post in the general forums as well..

The whole which is easier, acoustic vs electric, it really subjective and based on the type of music more than anything else. For the most part it's best to think of acoustic and electric as separate instruments. Ovation coined the term "Acoustic/Electric" to describe their models but I feel that's a bit misleading although technically accurate. The only other choice was to call it "Acoustic with built in microphone" which seems awkward.
