the high E-1 string sounds dramatically lower in volume than the rest of the strings on my guitar through all amps... is my pickup defective? or stuck or something... its brand new so i was hoping I could get some help here... thanks in advance to any one that has found or has a solution to this problem short of sending it back...

Push down on the bridge saddle at the E string... See if that helps.

Are there any "shims" under that saddle?

If there is a shim that is too short, it may not fully support the saddle...
If the saddle is not making secure contact, it may lessen the volume.

So check that first.

I hope that is helpful.
