Location: Connersville, Indiana | My brother in law has a Balladeer LX, countour body guitar. He was given the guitar from his brother who did not like it. I looked inside and the bowl it self above the lable has a raised lettering saying bowl made in New Hartford, but the lable inside does not say made in america. The guitar is 2 years old. I thought that the guitars with the LX were made in China, and AX were made in Korea. I don't know the modle # I forgot to get it. I was just wondering if the bowl was made in the US and then sent overseas for construction? |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | LX's are made in USA.
AX's are made wherever.
All my bowls say Ovation USA.
That is if they say anything, cuz my 1114 and 1685 don't have raised lettering inside the bowl.
My contour bowls also have a patent number in them.
And I think that ALL of the bowls say "Ovation USA" in them, even the Celebrity's.
Cuz they make the bowls in Ashtabula, OH and ship them over to Asia.
We discussed it in this thread...
I also thought that they moved all Balladeers to Korea in 2008.
But if it sez LX and has a Truss Rod Cover, it was made in the USA.
So, just cuz the Bowl sez it was made in the USA doesn't mean that the guitar was made in the USA.
It will say that it was made in New Hartford on the sticker.
If it just sez "Standard Balladeer" on a plain white sticker it is an import.
An LX will have the gray sticker with the Factory on it, and say LX on the Truss Rod Cover
(unless the TRC has been changed) No TRC, no LX. There will also be bolts inside of the bowl.
