I received my new baby today! a 1977 1612 sn#102840. It is breathtakingly beautiful (to me anyway) It is also very loud compared to my previous guitar. The question is, when I took it out of the case I found a 9v battery rattling around inside the guitar. I found the plug to attach the battery and the clip where I presume it is supposed to be moored. How on earth am I supposed to get the battery into that little clip unless I become a spider monkey, or remove the strings? there has to be a trick. On the other hand, I don't plan on using this instrument as an electric anyway; does it even matter?

Glad to read that you got your guitar... Where are the Pics?!

On the side of your guitar you should see a plastic screw-head...
That is not really a screw.
If you turn it 90° counter-clockwise it will release the battery holder.
Then you can change your battery.
It goes back in the same way, only 90° clockwise to hold it in.

You should do this when you change your strings. That is how you get your arm in there.
But not every time.
Depending on how much you play, a 9v battery will last months.

Congrats on the Guitar.
