So i bought a 12 string Celebrity CC65 on craiglist yesterday and im absolutely loving it but when i plug in its really quiet... Is this because its an old pickup? Is it because it has no preamp? I dont know what the problem is. If anyone has any suggestions that would be awesome.

Thanks,

-Archie

Congrats on the new guitar.

I'm not familiar with that exact model ... are you saying there is no preamp? Secondly, have you tried a new battery?

There's no doubt a 9v battery in there that powers the preamp ... and most likely it's dead. I can't quite tell from the pictures where it is exactly, but look for a battery box and put a new 9v in there. Hopefully that will solve the issue.
