I get it - you guys are sick of hearing me go on about the phenomenal sound of my new Balladeer 40th anniv re-issue. But I had a friend stop over to jam yesterday who brought a Taylor - I don't know which model, and a G&L blonde natural finish electric guitar (not USA made). He offered to trade me both guitars even up for the Balladeer and I had to admit I was tempted by the G&L, except that it wasn't USA made. I can't wait for this guitar to open up to see what I will have on my hands then.

I like the G&L Guitars and have an ASAT from '97 with a bird's eye maple neck that just kills.
Never played their import models but I can't imagine them being as nice as the US made ones.

I think you would have regretted that deal the moment it was done.

My Uncle plays blues and has a couple G&L ASATS -- he swears by them, and I have to admit, I love playing his G&Ls more than I ever did my old USA Telecaster. Nice electric guitars (but I've also never played an import model).

I've got a Tribute ASAT Special ( import ) and it's a great guitar with USA pickups and the finish is perfect. The neck feels good, but not like the USA neck, but the price difference is substantial.
