Location: New Jersey | Hi folks. I just bought a used Celebrity Deluxe cp247. For a Korean guitar, it is really a gem. Action nice, fit and finish is stellar. The finish is the natural quilt maple, I'm a sucker for natural finishes. Hopefully I'll be in the market for a USA model sometime next year. I'll post some pics if anyone is interested. It was a challenge trying to find info on this guitar; I know the imports are tough to nail down, but I managed to do some sleuthing. I believe it's a 2005 model, it has gold hardware but the tuner buttons are " pearl"- if anyone has any more info on this model, I'd appreciate it. Well, that's all I have for now, glad to have found some other Ovation aficionados! |

If you haven't already found it, www.ovationtribute.com is a great source for documentation. BTW, just in case you used the serial number to date the guitar, as I understand it serial numbers aren't realiable for dating Korean made Ovations. Welcome to the group. Location: New Jersey | Thanks for the welcome Nick. Yeah I heard the serials were not reliable. What helped was the site you mentioned. I saw my guitar in a 2005 catalog. It was a UK one; unfortunately they didn't have a US one covering that year of Celebrities. My serial number starts with a 5, so I'm thinking it's a fairly good chance it's accurate. Wish I could find an '05 US catalog to confirm though. |

Location: New Jersey | I'll hide for a while then - yeah those Flys were sweet deals- got them both used- the darker one is a 2001 Fly Classic; the lighter one a 2009 NiteFly Mojo. Best electric guitars on the planet -IMHO. |
