I told him that the best place to get it fixed was the factory. I told him it may be a bit pricey, but they would do it right. He contacted them and was told they are no longer doing repairs on Ovations unless they were under warantee. I could have sworn some of the members here have had used guitars worked on. Am I mistaken, or have they changed their policy?

Beyond the first two years the lifetime warranty may only cover parts, but at least it gets it in the door. Hmmm, I wonder if they planned it that way. Edited by Nick B. 2012-02-14 5:32 PM

However, if it is, it is sad news and most certainly our loss. The days of those wonderful one-off factory rebuilds may be over.</p> Edited by ProfessorBB 2012-02-14 5:52 PM

He emailed and got no response. Then he finally got ahold of some guy (not you or John) and the guy told him they don't do repairs anymore unless it was under waranty. I'll try to find out the name of the guy who told him that and send it to you in a PM. In the meantime, the guy found an authorized repair person in Colorado who told him he could fix it for about 100 bucks. He left the guitar with me to ship but I haven't shipped it yet. I wanted to find out what's going on with you guys first. I don't see how in the world this guy is going to fix it. The top is completely seperated from the bowl at the bottom and the binding is broken. Oh, and thanks!
