Location: Minden, Nebraska | I replaced the pickup in an #1867 and now get a hum/buzz that is eliminated when I grab the plug. It sounds like a grounding issue, and one I haven't run into before on an Ovation.
Any ideas on this, and/or what to do? |

Location: closely held secret | Paul, I had that problem on my 1867 and it turned out to be the pickup plug wasn't plugged all the way tight into the can.
If that's not it, I've also had problems with the 1/4" jack nut coming loose enough to allow the jack to spin, twisting the lead either causing a short or tearing a wire loose. |

Location: Hong Kong | I have similar problem with my 2079LX... Looks like the pickup plug's connection is OK.. The 1/4 jack looks pretty firmly in place. Not sure what else (& how) I should check?
I tried to ask help from the store I bought the guitar from, but they said it is just the preamp being noisy & nothing can be done... :confused:
The interim solution is whenever I use it for recording, I always connect my multitrack recorder to something else to ground it..
Any suggestion? Thanks....
