Location: NJ | Matt Smith is an Ovation/Hamer clinitian, musician extrodinaire and an overall great guy. Because of his obvious connection with Ovation and his ovarall masterful musicianship, I approached Matt to contribute to our website and perhaps write a tip of the month column.
It then dawned on me that Matt may have much more pertinent and interesting things to say and why confine him to a monthly offering.
In the final proposal I told Matt we wouild give him space and he could use it as an online log/diary, guitar tip area or just for anything he felt would be interesting to our membership.
If you do not know Matt I wouild strongly suggest you check out one of his Cd's,live gigs or instructional tapes. He is an exquisite musician,performer, songwriter, and teacher. I for one welcome his comments and participation to this board and know that you will all do the same.
I really got to know Matt at the last Hamer Fan Club open house where we hung out to the wee hours of the morning talking, philosophizing (is that a word??? well at 4 am it is !!!!) and discussing all things music.
It is my hope that via his posts you will get that same vibe and experience that I had that night. |
