Thanks everyone for being so patient, or at least attempting to be patient. It's nice to be made aware of how much you can miss something when its not there, but hey... LETS NOT DO THIS AGAIN FOR AWHILE!!!!

For those that are interested, this is what actually went happened.

1. Last Friday evening there was an alarm on the server for an impending hardware failure. It was taken down, repaired and brought back up and our forums didn't work. For the next couple of days this process was repeated in the initial thought that the server was being configured wrong, and it's much easier and less time consuming to just re-do, than to try to find a checkbox that is or isn't checked someplace.

2. Logic would have from the previous step that there must be something different, but what? And further more, why is the forum software crashing the server now?

3. As this is a shared environment, our site was copied by the host to a test server for analysis. I must at this point compliment Ready Hosting tech staff. For the minimal fees we pay for hosting, rebuilding and creating test servers in an attempt to fix a problem that might not even be theirs in software that is not theirs is more than was expected and way above anything in our service aggreement. They even got involved with the UBB Forums software folks to assist in the resolution (more on that further down).

3. It does turn out that there was a slight change in configuration on the server, but when the change is made to correct the problem, kaboom with another severe error. At this point UBB had the ball because the first solution stopped the server from crashing anytime the forums were accessed and allowed the UBB folks to get in and find a single currupted file (that is auto-generated if it doesn't exist) and delete it. So kudos to UBB for realizing the severity and jumping in to help, which is normally a pay service.
