I really like the spacing on the Tak. That combined with the thinner O necks might be an excellent combo for me.

Does such a beast exist?

Ah, I was under the impression the FD14 and other Folklores were 1 7/8 like my 6774 (not LX)

I'm gonna hafta try one of these newer FolkloreLX guits then.

Anyone bringing one to the NW Gathering?

I could be mistaken,(my wife say's I am) but I was under the impression that the Folklore's,like the 1614's were 1 7/8" nut, while the FD14's were 1 3/4" nut.

Gary, wouldn't be the first time the Ovation web site has been wrong, that's where I found those 4 models listed as 1 3/4".

I thought the folklores were 1 7/8. The 08 C-Series might be 1 3/4. Other than that there aren't many.

A couple of years back, I ordered a Folklore (expecting 1-7/8" neck). When it eventually arrived it was a FolkloreLX with a 1-3/4" neck.

Thanks Tim.

Are you happy with the 1 3/4, or would you rather the 1 7/8?

Apologies. I haven't been to the group in some months, and didn't realize a question had been posted to my remark.
--------------------------------------------
Am I happy with the 1-3/4 nut (Folklore LX)? Yes!

Would I still like a 1-7/8 nut? Yes.

This is my undeniable #1 all-around guitar. It's the one that goes with me when I play in public. It's dependable. Sounds great. Since I strum it more than I pick it (or even occassionally fingerpick), I'm sure it's better for me being 1-3/4". However, if I wanted an almost-full-time fingerstyle guitar, I believe 1-7/8" would be better.

The Adamas 1680 (along with the UTE and 08C) is a 1 3/4". I think there were some other adamas models made with a 1 3/4" nut as special orders or variations such as Adamas 1s and 2s that are normally narrow neckers.

I could be wrong here, but I thought I read somewhere that the folklore/Custom Artist guitars were originally 1 7/8" but newer ones are all 1 3/4".

I finger pick and strum and find the 1 3/4" is handy for both, as it just gives me enough clearance to cut down on string buzz caused by an intruding finger.
