It's Here!

Unfortunatly I wasn't...dreaded "we tried to deliver" taped on the door...

Tried to chase down the brown...no joy!

Delivery tomorrow between 10 am and 2 pm...

Problem: it reached a high today of 14; tonight forecast for 2; windchills of -10/-15...
Tommorrow high of 18 (balmy. We've also had nearly 8 inches of partly cloudy...winter is finally here...

OMA, have no fear, that case will be setting for a while before it gets opened...

Anticipation............

Brown delivered at 12:30 pm....
15 degrees outside...

Took box inside, and left it alone for 1 and a half hours.

2pm Opened top of box to let it breath...

2:30pm took case out of carton...

3:30 I can't take it anymore, I'm going for it!

Before:

After:

The Pacemaker is FINE, FINE, FINE....
What a great job Mother did...cloth bowl, gorgeous 'burst, upgraded electronic's, repaired dent in back of neck, more than expected....

And the sound: awesome: thats what kept me playing this model for over 10 years night after night...its a tummy rumbler. It plays and sounds as good as it gets...A bracing...excuse the drool...

Here is the album: 1977 1615-1 Pacemaker 12

I cannot say enough about the Mothership and the job they do...experts! Why would you go anywhere else? Many Thanks to John B. and Co.

Cheap?
Absolutely Not! (but still a value for excellence)
Did what the said they would?
Absolutely and more!
Value in restoring a totaled Vintage Ovation? Priceless!

New top & bowl?
Paul, yes, they replaced both: as you can see the original top was toast...what you didn’t see was the deep gashes in the side and underside of the original bowl...I told John to do what it needed...I did not have the neck completely redone...but they over sprayed and buffed out most of it (they did fix a deep dent in the back of the neck)...it keeps the vintage look and feel...they re-fretted and set up the guitar perfectly...it plays wonderfully! I'll take better pic's when spring comes and I can get outside...or maybe before if the ambient temp gets above freezing. I like it!

I have no idea how a dent in the neck is fixed, but the factory does indeed, do it. Amazing.

Whenever the top needs replacing, both the top and bowl are replaced.

Your guitar turned out very very well. My 69 GC 12 string got the same basic treatment. Beautiful guitar, great sound. Is my Adamas 12 string a better guitar? I don't know. Both 12's are great, just different.

Ice cream.....

If you've ever thought about have the mothership refurbish an old guitar --- DO IT! The cost isn't that much and the experience is incredible. I've had two old guitars rebuilt and have had my expectations exceeded both times.....
