I'm no doctor but the best advise I can give is... don't be watchin' no tennis matches.
I hope you get better soon.

Just for a chuckle... A while back a guy I work with had a pain in his foot. I wasn't a sprain and felt kind of different. He went to the doctors to have it checked out because he was going to a beach resort in the Bahamas the next week. When he got back to the office we arranged to have an unfamiliar voice call him and say she was from the doctors office and had some test results. She told him his condition was semi-serious and that he should stay off the foot as much as possible. And... whatever you do... the worst thing you could do... would be to walk on a sandy beach.
We had his chain pulled for a good couple hours.

Hey Group...
Thanks so much...I'm down but not out...got the laptop where I can do a bit of posting (check out the 1187-47 thread in For Sale).

I am going to try to preach this morning since my lay speakers are out of town...the neck is not good but we've been down this road before...I lifted a stupid computer up on a bench...thats all it took...
I'm hoping this is just a temporary setback...

Still planning on Amelia...
Thanks so much for all the good wishes and thoughts...
I appreciate each and every one of you!

Well, I got through the day (I had help)...going back to the DR's tomorrow...I'll try to update when possible...if the weather breaks that would help...

I have a great rice heat wrap that a lady at church made for me: heated for 90 seconds in a microwave: wrap it around my neck and I'm in tall cotton for a few minutes...folks, we don't appreciate health until it goes away...

BTW: OMA: now thats scary! lol...Delivery trucks...now that's funny! Even though it hurts to laugh....thanks again everybody...

Hey Mike - I hope you're feeling better soon! I know it's not easy trying to keep your head straight when you've got enthusiastic kids running in different directions.

Best Wishes,

Mike

Update: I was at the Dr's office early: he sent me down the road to have an additional MRI done...should have the results maybe tomorrow...he thinks the original injury to the disks was irritated and has resulted in additional swelling/inflamation which puts pressure on the nerves...in other words: PAIN...after he and the hospital got through I have quite a bit of pain so I am going to bed (sorry big Tim, even Marines get hurt...but I smiled at the post my friend)...I have the kids tonight Mike so hopefully it will calm down by then...

BTW, SWMBO said that she loved the post about the delivery trucks...she said that nailed it!
lol...I'm busted.....

Again, thanks for all the good wishes...you folks are truly great friends: I can't tell you what that means to us who have no family near...

Dr's office just called: MRI is negative for any further disk injury...I am to take it easy, take my anti-inflamitory and pain medicine, and NOT LIFT anything...I didn't think to ask about guitar playing...guess I'll use Adamas for a while since they are so lite....Whew, this was good news! I did not want to return to the clinic...this new anti-inflamitory seems to work as I can move much better today...
OK, back to regulary scheduled programming...lol

Hey Mike, you might consider going back to SSBs. They're lighter and don't cause as much strain on your neck to look down and see which notes in the chord you're missing. Seriously, glad to hear the positive news.

Good to hear, buddy. Now don't go do something you shouldn't just because you feel a little better.
