I have only been a member here for a few weeks, and have been treated like a member of the family. Old Man Arthur was even up in the we hours Christmas morning helping me out. I'm sure any one of you would have done the same. I have even had a few offers of guitars today and just let me say, I wouldn't hesitate buying one from any of you. I made a trip to Guitar Center here in Houston today. I went straight to the Ovations. There was a grand total of 5 of them in the store. Three Applause models and 2 Celebrities. Maybe this had to do with lack of post Christmas inventory. I don't know. My other interest was Taylor. To make a long story short, I bought a new 210E. Now before anyone goes hating on me, I have seen a number of Taylor's listed here in member sigs. Just look at BT717 above. LOL! My initial impression is it sounds incredible. Even my wife who has not a musical bone in her body said, "Either you have improved in the last week, or that guitar sounds much better than the other one." LOL! I'm no expert, but the fit and finish appear to be top notch but I'm comparing that to a defective Celebrity so take that for what its worth. I must say I don't think it's as pretty as an Ovation. Even with all it's flaws, I think that defective Transparent Blue Celebrity is a prettier guitar. But the Taylor also has a certain "no frills" attractiveness to it. It's growing on me. This brings me back to my first post here when I told about my Model 1111 Balladeer that my parents bought me when I was a teenager and how I thought it was the most beautiful sounding guitar I ever heard. I will always have a spot in my heart for that guitar and Ovations. In other words, I will always be an Ovation Fan. I might even own another one one day. In the meantime, I hope you guys won't mind if I drop in from time to time. This is a great place. Corey

I will NEVER knock anyone for buying an instrument they find pleasing to their eyes, ear and feel, but, Corey, with the abundance of High Quality used Ovations for sale on Ebay and specifically here, I think you could have spent less for more. Enjoy your Taylor, I do, but make sure your next is an "O", you won't regret it. I never have! :)

Corey in GC Huston found only Celeb and Applause. Click

I'm generally not a fan of Taylors myself, but everybody's got a favorite flavor of ice cream, too, and it doesn't have to be my favorite flavor. I actually played the first Taylor that I liked today at Best Buy of all places. It was a $3000 New Yorker body. It sounded similar to my Takamine dread (which was $1800 cheaper). Keep an eye out for a good used higher-end Ovation, Corey. And enjoy your new guitar!
