Location: Utah | Looks like it would do the job. My headphone amp is the Pandora PX-4. It has a lot of effects and emulations that are pretty decent. The price is more than that Vox, but well worth it if you'll use the features. |

Location: Corning, NY | I've tried them out, and I'd buy one for <$20. They're not worth more than that--I think they sell for $35-40. I picked up a used Pandora PX4d from musicgoround for $99, and it does everything you could want and you can clip it right on your strap. |

If you are just using it as a "let me use headphones" thing, but you want effects... find an old Rockman X100. There are plenty out there and plenty bang for buck... a multi-tool if you will.
If you want just "just plug it in to hear it" the little AMPlug is just fine.
