Location: Texas | I couldn't find much on this subject with several searches, and I lack any experience with the Adamas models, so here are a couple of questions in anticipation of a pending refurbishing project.
Are the recent Adamas bowls actually painted? Can they be touched-up or even completely repainted with readily available supplies and a steady hand, or would that require a trip back to it's birthplace or some other professional? Also, (although I hope I don't need to know this,) but can the bowls be patched if they are gouged or otherwise damaged beyond just surface wear?
If one were to attempt such things, what supplies would you recommend and where might you find them?

Location: Boise, Idaho | There's a BFLG group over on the social site. Those guys (MWoody, seesquare and others) have done a bunch of repairs. You might try them if you don't get a response here. |

| Woody uses Krylon spray paint, he can give you the details. He's posted recently about this very subject, but not on an Adamas. You're right there's not as much activity "over there" but a few of us monitor the groups and answer group-specific questions. |

g8r: Thanks, you gave me the magic word (Krylon) that lead me back to the info I thought I'd read once before. There I discovered that I'd actually added a comment directly after Woody's mention of using Krylon. This is an active and recent thread and I forgot about it already, yikes, how embarassing.
The old memory (or lack thereof) is playing tricks on me again, (shades of another recent thread on that subject.) For the moment, I'll blame it on the lack of sleep due to the late hours here on the OFC.

Location: Upper Left USA | For standard bowls the Krylon Flat Black or Camo held about 4 feet from the target will lay down a fairly convincing splatter pattern.
Watch your temperature and humidity and pre-heat the can in warm water.
Mask off what you don't want covered!
For the Adamas glitter stuff I'm sure that you can find something, they have a whole wall of specialty paints available.
Tail lights are optional but it comes with a horn... or two. |

Location: Texas | Do you mask off and repaint the entire bowl every time, or have you succesfully matched colors closely enough to fix only a damaged area and leave the rest?
The guitar in question is (or will be ;-) an Adamas ME II…
