So I just realized that I haven't kept anyone up to date on my custom Cornerstone guitar build, which is VERY near to completion now.

Here is some pics as it is right now:

Bear-Claw Spruce top, Koa rosette with white pearl Hebrew lettering (spells my wife's and kid's names):

Figured Ziricote back, florentine cutaway:

Side view with Celtic shield soundport & Koa
binding:

Ebony fingerboard with Bloodwood Celtic cross inlay:

My luthier's working on the neck now, and says he should be finished in the next few weeks. I expect to have it in hand by the first of March.

Not an Ovation, but pretty stinkin' cool, I think. :D :D :D

Quite an understatement...

That is going to be a beautiful piece.

Very cool. I like the figure on the ziricote. Did you come up with all of the design elements yourself, or was it an evolving process with the luthier? In any case, it's a beautiful instrument.

Beautiful guitar, Andrew. I'm not familiar with Ziricote. What does it do to the sound?

It's an ebony, so a little brighter than rosewood, but not as bright as maple or myrtle. Should be a nice balance with the sitka spruce top.

I've always been pretty good with my hands, but I could never create something that beautiful. Outstanding job.

A lot of the specifics (the Ziricote for example) came out based on recommendations of the luthier, but the inlays and soundport were my designs. I actually did all the graphics for the inlays myself, and had a friend translate my wife and kids' names into Hebrew, then did the lettering on the computer. It really turned out better than I expected.

What a lovely piece of workmanship, all the way around. If its' sound matches its' beauty, you will have some fabulously fantastic instrument.
We expect to see clips of her in action after she's done......

Very cool. Has a very rich look to it. Love the sound port, too! What's the head look like? Can't wait to see it together.
