I think it's sad and somehow frightening that something which takes no talent, no musical ability, is not music and is basically profanity poetry (and not very good poetry) can sell so well and make talent-less jerks so friggin much money. Not only does the emperor have no clothes, he ain't even the emperor.

"All that Boom Boom Boom on the drums, rythme and harmony with no interest in melody....is THAT music? I think not." For me, though I don't 'get it', (with certain very specific exceptions) it fulfills the first law of Rock & Roll. Piss off your parents! ........................................... Oh, and to get back on guitars.... though I have endless respect for Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck is GOD!

He also almost broke his foot trying to kick in his own television when the Beatles first played the Sullivan show. Then he turned it off and left the room swearing. My Mom turned the set back on.

I have enjoyed him as much as anyone from back in the day...he's a bit different...but he can play the frets off of the strat...The crossroads '07 set was fabulous! I wish they would release the rest of the music that was played that day by some of the greats... I have to say for the most part you have all hit the perverbial "Nail on the Head"... On display, they've got a urinal from CBGB's (which is pretty much redundant). Cliff especially...... ;) Rock on!!!

I am at a level that even if I can't play the leads I at least can understand how they are doing it, Jeff does shit I just can't quite figure. He controls the whole guitar like it's part of him. I have similiar situation with YES. Amazing musicians, amazing body of work and some of the most complicated yet listener friendly pieces I have ever heard. Yet they get dissed all the time with awards or in rock history documentary's. I would not be surprised to find that they are not in the hall of fame.
