The AP article only mentioned his name, while Metallica (deservedly IMO) got a write up, and Run DMC (undeservedly IMO) got an even bigger write up. I guess you could say Jeff is a guitarist's guitarist. We are the only ones who seem to value him.

He can say volumes with one note. And nobody works a whammy bar like Jeff! He has style has always been a little left of center compared to Clapton, Page, Blackmore and others who always got more recognition, but I have always loved listening to him and watching him play.

There is no rhyme, just F&S every other word. Requires no talent, just a fuckin Presidential "the world owes me" attitude, you mo-fo ho! The two Beck albums I like the best are with Tench as the singer. One has an Orange on the cover and the other one is the one just before it or after it, same line up. Max Middleton on Fender Rhodes, Cozy Powell on drums I think. Great stuff. I think these came a year or so after Truth.

He can reach the 'I don't know art, but I know what I like....and I don't hate that' crowd. On Blow By Blow he took R&R as far into jazz as it will ever reach. 'Cos We've Ended As Lovers' is one of the most beautiful instrumentals of all time, along with Samba Pa Ti and Sleepwalk.

If you haven't seen it, check it out… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIFFRHBCPzA&feature=related Jeff Beck is a true guitar master, most would agree. But when I first saw/heard that Crossroads performance, I was stunned by the incredibly mature and complex Bass lines that were being played by what appeared to be a petite teenaged girl. I thought maybe she was Beck's daughter… I have since learned that she is a little beyond "teenage" but that she is an emerging talent on the bass who is highly respected by the likes of Jeff Back, who's probably 3 times her age. No bass player jokes please, she is truly a talented musician…

And I never thought I'd write this sentence but if I was forced at gunpoint to listen to either DMC or Metallica it would be DMC by a mile. (I might actually choose the bullet of course.)

After being stuck with a Factory2nd for so long, I'll gladly take the -5 (as long as it works). They recently opened a Hall of Fame Annex in NYC. On display, they've got a urinal from CBGB's (which is pretty much redundant).

This is one of my favorites: Somewhere over the rainbow Beck is a complete electric guitarist, he refuses to play acoustic guitar. Maybe, cause there' no whammy bar.

"After being stuck with a Factory2nd for so long". . . Factory 2nd? Jeepers, Cliff you're in a generous mood today.
