Years ago, before easy access to the internet to verify the useless trivia floating around my head, some friends insisted that line was from some Disney movie or something. I told them that it was from an old television show with Andy Devine. They would not believe me, they thought I was crazy… I was right, but so were they ;-)
They almost had me convinced that "Andy's Gang" existed only in my dreams…
According to Wikipedia, it was even older than that:
"Froggy the Gremlin was a character on the Smilin' Ed's Gang radio and TV show and later Andy's Gang"
So Smilin' Ed originally said the line "Pluck that magic Twanger, Froggy." Even I don't remember Smilin' Ed…
…2ifbyC, If you pulled that out of your memory, that makes two of us on the planet that actually remember it…
I'm so glad I've finally found a support group ;-) |

I'm so glad I've finally found a support group ;-) When I saw the post title, I immediately thought of the TV show. Before I clicked the thread I thought someone found an Ovation related to the show.
OK, we now know there's at least two of us older farts... :D |
