When I bought my Elite, I sat there and kept going back and forth between several before picking the one that suited my ear. Now the question; How many have purchased their Ovation online and were not satisfied with tone when it arrived. I am thinking of getting an Adamas, but either need to travel to try several out, or rely on luck that if I order on online, I'll enjoy the sound. Your thoughts on this please.

The variances in the top are going to be much less then with pieces of wood. But work with someone reputable, someone who is interested in your happiness/their reputation. And support those who would support you. I'd suggest working with Alpep.

The advantage of Al is that he is a player also and intimately familiar with the different models and has played the majority of them. Compare that to the local GC (where they don't even know the model numbers or what the difference is) or mail order company and it is a no brainer.

Read the Welcome page on this board, Wagonmaster, and visit Al's LostArtVintage.com website. Then you might do a search for Mr. Big just for kicks. Then the only thing mysterious about him will be whether anyone has ever seen him without his beret.

Listen to the song, play the song, and THEN search for what the real chords are. Anyway, go ahead and mess with me. At my age you can't do any damage, I just let it roll...... and being from Maine just invites it anyway.
