Got out Sunday night before the big crowds. She saw the U2, Byonce and Springsteen performances. Plus saw the president speak at the lincoln memorial. Cool stuff that she'll remember for a lifetime.

What I learned from him was that good men speak up when they see wrong... no matter how unpopular. The night Rev. King was shot, an epithet was joyously spoken as the news spread silently through the auditorium. Difficult to believe in the world in which we now live, but it happened. My wise father immediately ended the service and gathered the deacons in a darkened Sunday school classroom where prayers were offered for Martin and his family. He did not live to see this day but I know in my heart, politics aside, staunch conservative that he was, my father would be proud of our country on this day. And I remain his proud son.
