Here is a pic of one of the earliest Glen Campbell artist's I have ever seen, featuring a 5-point bridge. Serial # is E006. This is from '69, I assume.

The truss rod cover and tuners appear to have been changed at some point.

I just love guitars that have player wear. Nice looking machine you've got there BB!

Speaking of bridges, check the bridge and soundhole trim in the guitar BEHIND the 1127. What in the world is that thing?

Moody's got one on his 1117 freshly back from Mama. But I'm not sure that counts. ;)

Both guitars are very nice. Is that an original Lifton case with the one Wayne posted? But I have to say I really like the winged bridges ... but then again, I like outies too.

Stonebobo;

Yes, that's the original case...it is the same as the one with my GC Deluxe Balladeer.

Moody's make-over Legend looks great!

I much prefer the 5-point to the winged versions, personally. The wings just look fragile, although I'm sure they're not.

Borrowing a picture from OvationGallery.com (Dave's), this is the bridge style on my Artist (F161):

There were numerous 5 point bridges on textured deep bowls, The early 1117s had this. But I always believed that the winged bridge and artist boel happended simultaneously. Guess not, based on this example. Also have not seen too many E-nnn serial numbers. Must have been a very limited time in 69-70.

Damn, thought my GC custom was the only 5 pointer on an Artist bowl. I wonder of it's the only SHINY artist bowl...

There's always been a little overlap with models and features. Like most companies, Ovation's never had hard cutoff points for changes in features.
