I am not in anyway overly impressed with the Millennium sound or the playability of it but I bought it because they only made 75 of them and I thought that it would be a very sought after guitar ( like all of us think about our guitars )but it was the coolest looking guitar Ovation/Adamas had to offer at that time. But it is just a W597 with a planeted neck attatched to it.GWB

The 47RI and the 1598 both sounded much better, and I thought my NEB Elite was as good, so I sold it. I think the Mill is an outstanding looker, but maybe I'd like the Universe better as it's an SMT top.

I really don't know if it was bracing, etc. The Millennium does have a "harpsichordic" ring to it that I hadn't found in the textured top, CVT, or SMT. I do a lot of fingerpickin' with or without the thumb pick. Someone who did primarily strumming might not have the same effect. It also has more resonance (if I am using the term correctly). When I first got a 1687, if seemed like I was blown away in that if I plucked a string, it just kept resonating like the Energizer Bunny. This was reinforced by several others that have the guitar. As to the planet inlaids, nice but I would have also liked it with standard fretboard inlaids. As to whether someone buys one, all I can say is it is the only non-textured top Adamas that I have tried and kept. Of course, all of this is subjective. Again, of course, our personal, subjective attachment to a particular guitar is why we try it...then keep it or move on. It is subjective why I have the Adamas I 6 and 12-strings and released the Adamas II 6 and 12-strings for others to enjoy. Also, why I had the FD-14, several Al DiMeola, and others. Different flavors for different folks.

I had mine set up by Gary at Huber and he could not bring the action down low enough for me to really enjoy it like my other O's and Adamas. That is my drawback on it. I did not even realize that the one Huber had was a wood top,not into Ovations at that point. I never heard of one made like that.Did you research it at all to find out how many were made?Sounds like a rare one.GWB
