Just wanted to say welcome and hope you stick around. There are a few Aussies here. Happy Australia Day :D

Hey another Aussie. Welcome Hillbilly, where are you located? There's a few of us in and around Brisbane, Ozwatto in NSW and Flacky in Melbourne.

Up the top of the page, you'll see a social network link. Go there (you'll need to register again for that) upload some pictures there and then link to them from here (Can't post pictures directly into this site). Then the wise heads (or the "hive mind" as it's lovingly known) will kick into action.

It's now been adopted into the (mindless) Aussie sporting chant...

Check out Wikipedia where it refers to punk and glam rockers and the Oi! Culture

Oi!

The word Oi is an old Cockney expression, simply meaning hey or hello eg "Oi you, come over 'ere"

"Oi you, come over 'ere"

Not too far off from the Jeff Foxworthy saying:

"annuity: n and v. having forethought or intuition.
"I couldn't hear him but "annuity" was sayin'."

"apparent": n. one who sires or gives birth to offspring.
"It's obvious to me from lookin' at yer belly that yer a gonna be "apparent."

My personal favorite - asphalt, as in "If you paid too much without check'in here first it's yer own dum asphalt!"

Welcome aboard!

Hillbilly,
If it was a triangle-in-a-circle, it's a recovery model.
Sorry, Bill's Friends. Couldn't resist.

That's the most bizarre thing I've ever seen. My best guess is it's assembled from various other parts.

Outside of being a ProtoType of some sort, I'm sticking with my first answer. There's just too many things that don't make "sense".

Sorry, but it looks like a clone and not a real O to me. The rossette might be explained as a replacement if the original cracked or broke, but I've never seen an O with fret markers like that - they always have the last fret marker at 17. This has markers at 19 & 21 as well. Also, Ovation round-hole necks (except for the Custom Legends) end in a curve that matches the arc of the soundhole. This one ends straight across.

The body is a circa '75 Applause. I have one with the exact same rosette and pickguard. Here's a pic of mine:

Here's Hillbilly's:

Neck - not a clue. The "3" carving certainly looks homegrown, though.

I do not want to mislead this post, but talking about clones or copy, I just found this amazing Melody guitars, builted here in Italy back in the '70 (the manufacturer doesn't exits anymore). Funny....
