Good idea. Throw in there that Ovation is the guitar of choice for rock stars stranded on an island, because it has a built in tuner. And Sayid knows how to build spare batteries from seaweed.

I liked the fact that the guitar is found safe in its case, hanging from a tree. I think I saw this when they aired it, but just didn´t remember anymore.

I gave up watching that show around the third episode.

The wife and I have been lost junkies since season 1. I noticed his guitar the first time I saw it hanging from the tree and it reminded me of the Jim Croce stories. I believe it is an LX, but I'm not really sure.

Well, they're saying the top and neck(?) are high pressure laminate. Where did they get that from? The Martin website?

Just curious, is this a legend guitar, did anyone notice? I bought a legend LX 2077 from Patch just like it (I think)
I love it!

Ditto! The writers have no plan for where to take the show. They leave mysteries unexplained too long. Then they add more unsolved crap on top to the point that it just didn't matter what happens anymore. There is so much nonsense going on that they have to have a running banner at the bottom of the screen explaining things.

Since you haven't watched it since the third episode, you'll be happy to learn that's no longer the case. It all turned around at the mid point last year. When they came back from the writer's strike, it was clear they have a plan. For me, anyway, it's better than ever.

But if you watched the first part of last year in the fall of 2007, your assessment was right on.

That Ovation saved Charlies life!
An arrow went clear through the guitar neck about two frets from the headstock.
Hmmm.... come to think if it, how did that arrow get past the truss rod?

At times it has frustrated me but I still love the show. My favorite type of shows are the ones that require you to pay attention.

Still curious, anyone confirm what kind of Ovation it was?

They lost me in season 2. It just got too frustrating to follow all the little twists and changes. If you missed one episode you then were lost on much of the future plot.

I originally ignored the Lost series mostly because if you missed something you missed it all.

Then my Daughter loaned me seasons 1 & 2 on DVD...

That is the only way to watch! No commercials and maximum continuity!
Since I have purchased seasons 3 & 4 and will either follow or ignore season 5 (wait for the DVDs to come out.

Still can't tell if the guitar is an LX or one of the Overseas makes.

I don't get Showtime so I am renting full seasons of "Dexter" as they come out.
That is the best way to watch a complicated & layered type of program.

That's what I do with all the complicated series - Lost, 24, Pushing Daisies... much better to watch them in order, with no commercials, no missing pieces because of distractions, no 3 month Christmas hiatus...

24 is dangerous, though. It's easy to lose 5 or 6 (or 9 or 10) hours if you're not careful!

It still takes me 2 hours to watch "60 Minutes"...

I have to wear my eyeglasses to watch "20/20"!
