Hi gang. Looking at a 1639 and can't find much in our search. This one looks like it needs some love! Am I to understand that this is a Matrix? Label inside appears to say Ovation. Also, will this have the aluminum and composite neck? Are they decent (not necessarily great!) guitars? Have a look:

It looks like my Matrix, which says Ovation inside. It has the urethane neck, but I couldn't tell if it had the aluminum fretboard. Probably. Later ones were rosewood. Mine plays fine with a nice deep bowl sound.

Thanks! I'm confused though, since many Matrix pics I've seen have "Matrix" on the headstock, and/or raised striped binding that looks like rope. This one has the standard binding and Ovation on the headstock. Hmmm????? I like this one though!

Mine is a 1976 and looks just like that. I think they did the Matrix labels later.

Mine says made in USA on the label. I think they were all made in Moosup, Connecticut.

Moosup was what I was thinking too. Thanks for the info!
