OMA, that's for a new one....not a vintage one which would typically sound better and be worth a whole lot more!

True story . . . our sound engineer is a gearaholic, particularly old mics. One of his colleagues reported that his neighbor's husband collected gear for years, then passed away, and his widow wanted to sell an expensive mic. He went to take a look and found it to be a vintage Neumann in original packaging which he was willing to buy on the spot. She then asked if he wanted any more and dug out a cardbox box full of loose "stuff". He took a quick look and found some more Neumanns scattered in the box, so he said yes and paid $2800 for the entire lot. I should see him tomorrow and will ask for a list of what he ended up with. It means little to me, but you Neumann fans might find it interesting.

Beal and Al ought to get together ... I'll bet the outcome would sound really sweet.

Congrats on the get, Beal. Just so you know, I stand ready to help you in your diversions as well. ;)

Am I too subtle? I asked "Who" not "What", as a cheap shot at Al. He's always complaining about how he doesn't like his voice.

My bad, Mark. I read it, chuckled and never properly responded.

Comedy's a tough gig, man.

Almost as bad as trying to insult a blonde. They always had to explain Pollack jokes to me, too, Al.

I will be the first to admit that my voice is an aquired taste.

sorta like the taste of vomit the morning after an excessive evening of drinking
