PEZ posted about this the other day. I didn't realize until I followed your link that these are really being offered on the Eastwood website right now. I guess it's really happening. It's one of those things that makes you go hmmmmmmm.

Dale, how is your Sidejack DLX? If I got an Eastwood, that's probably the one I'd want. Although from what I've read, the tremelo isn't a very good one.

I missed the posting from PEZ as I haven't had much free time this week.

I really like my Sidejack. Eastwood has "upgraded" the guitar for this year. I've got the original and love it just the way it is.

Interesting... I guess one could always get a NOS neck (from me) and a set of knobs (from me) and it would be pretty cool "looking."

I'd be interested to hear how it sounds.

Has anyone gotten one of the Eastwood Breadwinners yet?
Odd that it is now April and no reports.

OK OK I caved..... and got one of the Eastwood Breadwinner copies.
Plays great and has very good build quality. Made in Korea....However I Just don't have a reference point to measure to the original..... can not believe Fender did not jump on this and resurrect the line

They actually build a reasonable guitar.

I nearly bought one of their Ultra GP replicas a while back here in Oz

I just picked up an original white Breadwinner here.

Can you put an old Ovation neck on it?

And does it have a preamp?

What about this?

Ovation Prototype Korean Breadwinner.

Apparently decided not to go ahead.

Will be interesting to see how many Eastwood sell

In the picture of the Eastwood and the "real" Breadwinner, the Eastwood looks like the body is quite a bit smaller. Is it? Looks nice though.

I am not too sure about those dimensions... I got that photo over a year ago.
That might not be what the current 'production' Eastwoods look like.

Well as with all the other lawsuit models that EASTWOOD has done... I have to make the safe assumption that the originals all just went up in value at least a couple hundred bucks, whattya'll think about that? heh heh! Would be great news for me if that's true! I would already sell at a profit as it is on all my Deacons and Breadwinners... but NOW... if I can get a cool couple BENJAMINS more on each one over the next couple years as I sell? Whoooo Hoooooo will that be total sweetness! Heh heh! (Pipe dreaming, again - I can't HEP' it!)

In any case I hope Mr Ovation can make some extra "dollas" on dem' NOS parts! That would be sweetness too! Good luck brother!

Interesting nonetheless! All the best my friends!

Yes, Eastwood shrunk their O!

Real Deacons don't fit into normal guitar cases and it's hard to find a good piece of Mahogany that wide.

The Celebready Proto was the right shape though.

Here are the measurements of the Eastwood Breadwinner which I hope someone will compare to the original.

40.74 from headstock to tail
18" body long, 14.75" wide
26.5 inside nut to outside of tailpiece.
Fret-board 19.0 long

The only difference between the Eastwood measurements quoted and a real one is the overall length.
A Deacon is 40" long.
All else the same.

The "Celebready" Proto, as Woody calls it is the same as the original.
