I saw it in the theater for the short time it was out. It's one of those movies that I'm glad I saw, but I don't wanna see it again. Of course I could say the same for A Hard Days Night, Help and Magical Mystery Tour, though they're not nearly so depressing (well, maybe MMT). Great musicians, not great movie stars. The only Beatles movie, IMO, that bears repeat viewing is Yellow Submarine and they're not in it (except for an outro), just their music and actors playing them.

Of course they're silly, and play on the Beatles popularity, but they're fun. Richard Lester's direction in both is great. I've always felt the scripts (and the unscripted dialog) captured their personalities so well. Let It Be is depressing, MMT is ridiculous, Yellow Submarine is unique. Help and HDN are entertaining.

I think it can be found on ebay: Let it Be: http://cgi.ebay.com/THE-BEATLES-LET-IT-BE-LIMITED-COLLECTORS-EDITION_W0QQitemZ220352790756QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Movies_Movies_TV_Shows?hash=item220352790756&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_t rkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 A really good movie representing the early days of the Beatles is Backbeat. I enjoyed seeing what the early venues would have been like and the energy of the shows.
