I know this has been on before and I have seen parts. I stayed with it for 15 minutes and told my wife to watch whatever she wanted to. If I am going to watch classical music, then bring on the orchestra. If I am going to watch Glen C, then Glen, a bass player, drummer, keyboards and rhythm guitar is plenty. Why bring on 90 other musicians to drowned out the sound of Glen,s great playing??? I just don't get it!!! Am I the only one who feels this way?

However, they in no way drowned out his playing or that of the band and I felt it complimented the music very well. Maybe the audio was just bad on the PBS broadcast. I have seen shows on PBS where the dialog was almost unintelligible while the sound effects and background (foreground) music were quite loud and annoying.

(Johnny Cash was another!) I listened to his new cover CD "Meet Glen Campbell" for the first time Saturday morning while Mari and I were driving thru the mountains of Western NC, on a beautiful, crisp, sunny day ole Glen's voice was sounding wonderful......(not bad for a 72 yr old man)

The folks at our one and only PBS station are TRYING, but they usually never get anything right. For example, we have a guy on the radio in the evening who plays jazz. Now, he usually plays great music, but for some reason, he seems to think that talking like an eight year old pretending to be a "hep-cat" is cool. I'm serious. He calls himself "Uncle Jimmo", and when he gives the time, he says "_ o'clock central time, _ o'clock mountain swinging time." When I first got here, I called him up and said "You're playing sophistocated music, WHY do you insist on talking like an eight year old?" I even told him if he would knock off with the "mountain swinging time" crap, I would make a pledge. He DID knock it off until the check cleared. If you don't believe how bad this guy is, go to SDPB radio on your computer. His show starts at 6:30 plain old MOUNTAIN TIME. If he didn't play such good music, I would switch to the Nebraska station which plays classical during that time. (Sometimes I do.) Oh, and if you tune in on week-end mornings, you'll get to hear two shows playing at once most days. Or LOTS of dead air. They still haven't taught the weekenders which buttons to push.

I corrected him again, saying that North Dakota is just like South Dakota, except worse at everything. We could only get one radio station and 2 TV channels when I lived there. Of course, that was in the 60s and the 2 channels were black and white.
