Interesting interview with John Prince who is James Taylor's guitar tech. Scroll about halfway down through the newsletter:

Oh, and I watched the video:

Never seen JT play and electric (seen him more times than I can count) and I don't believe I have ever seen a capo used on an electric. Maybe he just needs a proper ovation :) .

I wouldn't mind learning to be a proper guitar tech. I would make my life simpler setting up my own gits. I wonder where you get that kind of training?

Never seen a capo on an electric? You need to get out more. :)

"trial and error"

Right. And in the beginning, the errors are about equal with the trials!

Capo on Electric, some of my favorites-
Eagles - Don Felder - Hotel Califonia live Double neck 12/6 string capo on the 12
Eric Clapton - Holy Mother
The Black Crowes - Chris Robinson - Jelous again, among others, he likes experimenting with alt tunings

I could go on but these are some good starters, All these are on Youtube too.
